Roofing Before & After in Jacksonville, FL
Talk is cheap in roofing. We can tell you we’re thorough, but showing you a torn-off deck in Atlantic Beach next to the finished standing seam two weeks later tells the real story. The projects below are the kind of work we do across Jacksonville every month. Each one started with a written price and ended with the 365-Day Done Right Promise in the homeowner’s hand. Take a look at what changed.

Flat Roof Re-Cover in San Marco
Before
AfterThe problem: a 1960s flat roof with original hot-mop asphalt that had been patched four different times by four different crews. Water ponded near the scupper, and the sheathing around it was spongy. We tore back to the deck, replaced two sheets of rotted plywood, and installed a TPO membrane with new drip edge and a properly sloped scupper box. The result is a clean, bright roof that actually drains. In San Marco, with those big live oaks dropping leaves every spring, a smooth TPO surface also means the homeowner can finally sweep debris off without snagging it on old patchwork.
Storm-Damaged Shingle Replacement in Arlington
Before
AfterThe problem: a spring squall had torn a swath of shingles off the north slope, exposing the underlayment and leaving the decking open to rain. The homeowner tarped it himself, but water had already crept under the flashing at the chimney. We removed the damaged field, corrected the chimney step flashing, laid new synthetic underlayment, and matched the existing Owens Corning Duration shingles as closely as color stock allowed. The finished slope looks close enough that you’d have to know where the patch started to find it. Arlington gets hammered by afternoon storms off the St. Johns, and that chimney detail was the real leak, not just the missing field shingles.
Full Tear-Off on a 1990s Home in Mandarin
Before
AfterThe problem: the original 1993 three-tab roof was losing granule coat by the bucketful. Gutters filled with grit after every rain, and the homeowner had three separate soft spots in the decking around the plumbing vents. We stripped it all, re-nailed the deck to current code, replaced two sheets of plywood, added a peel-and-stick water barrier along the eaves, and installed a GAF Timberline HDZ architectural shingle in charcoal. It’s a different roof. Mandarin’s heavy summer humidity and those long runs of oak canopy mean good attic ventilation matters, so we added ridge vent along the full peak too.
Leak Repair at a Porch Transition in Riverside

The problem: a persistent drip at the seam where the main shingle roof met the standing seam porch roof. The previous fix was a smear of caulk that failed in the first warm week. We pulled the transition flashing, found the original had been installed backward, and replaced it with a proper two-piece apron and counter flashing assembly. Then we re-lapped the underlayment and shingles up the transition. Riverside’s old bungalows have dozens of these quirky roof intersections, and they fail in predictable ways when someone guesses instead of reading the existing water path. This one’s been dry for over a year.
Re-Roof After a Fallen Limb in the Beaches

The problem: a water oak limb the size of a telephone pole came down on a beach cottage during a noreaster, crushing a six-foot section of the ridge and cracking rafters at the east end. The insurance adjuster approved a full reroof, and the homeowner had three weeks before hurricane season kicked in. We sistered the cracked rafters, rebuilt the crushed deck section, and reroofed the entire home with CertainTeed Landmark shingles in a driftwood tone that suits the coast. The new roof got a full synthetic underlayment and upgraded nailing pattern to meet current wind-mitigation standards. That last part matters about six times more out at the Beaches than it does inland.
